How Your Support Helps
Fighting Blindness
People living with sight loss navigate their entire lives through touch – now they don’t even have that.
Over a quarter of a million people are living with sight loss in Ireland. Fighting Blindness is the primary source of dedicated counselling support for them and their families.
They’re seeing an increased demand for their help during this difficult time. Their service users are already experiencing high levels of anxiety and isolation due to their sight loss condition. Covid-19 is having a significant impact on them.
Fighting Blindness is rapidly adapting to the crisis. In the past week, they transitioned all clients to telephone based counselling. Their support groups moved to online options that will enable people to connect and interact.
Right now, they need your help more than ever. They’re the only charity in Ireland funding research into treatments and cures for sight loss. Their mission is to cure blindness, support people living with sight loss and empower patients. They rely on the generosity of the public for almost 90% of their income; this crisis will hit them hard.
Your donation will help them keep their doors open and continue to support people living with sight loss in Ireland.
